I am entering my senior year in high school. Lately, this is what I’ve been saying to introduce myself. I feel like that it’s the only statement that adequately defines me. When people think senior year, the first word that comes to mind is usually “FUN!” (exclamtion point and capitalization included.) But for me as well as many other seniors out there, “fun” is usually accompanied with “anxiety.” How can we be expected to plan out the rest of our future in less than a year’s time? Everything that I have been doing in my past three years boils down to senior year. And college applications.
Ah yes, the college application. I watched my sister complete her ten applications with ease. She applied to ten colleges including Harvard (she’s about to start her sophomore year there this fall), Yale, Georgetown, Emory, Vanderbilt, and Washington University in St. Louis. And get this. She was accepted into every one. Right now, I ‘d like to give a quick shout-out to my sister: Thanks, Sis, for setting the bar high!
In this blog, I will be chronicling the adventure that is senior year and the trial and tribulations of my college applications. Hopefully, it will be able to serve as a guide for future “prospective students.” But if not, hey, that’s fine. Anyone is welcome to visit here to laugh at my aspirations and to mock my dreams and my failed attempts.
